10.3.11. Blushes Hairdressers

Blushes stylists have been shortlisted for the L'Oreal Colour Trophy finals so I was asked to go along to the Gloucester and Cirencester salons to do some press photos for the locals. Shall post the images tomorrow if they appear in the paper.

Focus on Imaging

Went to Focus on Wednesday - don't normally go but went to have a look at photobooks and albums on the SIM 2000 stand. really impressed with the product so have ordered a sample set to show wedding couples. The benefit of going along to the show is that all the exhibitors have great discounts so hopefully I got a good deal.
Also listened to a couple of the presentations on offer at Phase One - Adrian Weinbrecht and Ryan Schembri. They are two Australians who can definitely talk the talk but must be great at what they do. They both show such enthusiasm for their profession that it rubs off. I needed some inspiration!

Pancake Day 2011 and International Women's Day - Another interesting and time-challenging day working for GM! try driving to Dursley from stroud in 10 minutes, find a parking space and photograph a pancake race. I got the call at 11.50 in Stonehouse - pancake race started at 12.00 - luckily a few of the runners were still milling around and I persuaded them to run the race again. Embarrassing but the only way to get the photos. Life is never dull at least.

also met two young organ donors from Northleach - have attached the photo that one of them wanted with comedy glasses - not the one published in the Echo!

Gloucestershire Media Shift 3.3.11.

Another frantically busy day working for the Echo and Citizen papers.

Ordinarily photographing sheep at a farm is pretty idyllic but today it was so bitterly cold that my fingers found it hard to press the button! From Frampton Mansell I headed to Gloucester to photograph some archive papers at the records office. Then on to Cheltenham to cover a story about a local resident who is fed up with GCHQ workers parking in residential streets and clogging up the area. A regular story for the Echo.
Back to Gloucester, this time to photograph two of the doctors there who work with Stroke patients. Parking as usual is a nightmare at GRH - looking forward to the new car park opening. Back to Cheltenham to see the folks at St Vincents Centre and then to Whaddon to see how children are learning about police work.

Gloucestershire Media Shift 1.3.11.

The day started with a great visit to Nigel Twiston-Davies' stableyard at Temple Guiting to see the horses he hopes will be running in the Cheltenham Festival later in the month. Star of the show was Imperial Commander.

The rest of the day involved photographing a dance festival at Winchcombe School and an overweight dog in Tewkesbury!
