Amount raised so far

£1500 of the trip fee will be going directly to the three charities involved.

So far, the events I've organised have raised £1097 which is a fantastic result and I would like to thank everyone that has come along to support me.

I have also done a few photos for people in return for donations - these include The Bath Tavern, the fantastic Hickey family and photos will be posted soon.

Also, I would like to thank all those who have sponsored me to help me reach the full amount.

Thank you x

Quiz Night

Quiz night the other week raised £230 - so thanks very much to everyone who was able to make it. I am hoping to organise one more fundraiser for early January, perhaps this time a bowling night or skittles again which was brilliant fun.

Top Tip

Well it's official....

I went to listen to Charley Boorman at the Cheltenham Literature Festival last night for a fascinating insight into his trips around the world. I asked hime afterwards if he had any top tips for a novice rider like me going on Enduro India.

His first piece of wisdom was that I shouldn't fall off or be afriad to fall off, something I am really hoping not to do anyway. But the top tip he gave me was to take baby wipes!

They will be on my christmas list!

Theory test passed

Passed my bike theory test today, so can get on with the direct access now. Haven't ridden for more than a week now so hope I won't be too rusty.
Have had a couple of days out on a 125 with Steve from Acer Training in Gloucester and next time hope to go out on the 500. Then hopefully I can get the test done fairly soon after that.
Don't forget that if you want to sponsor me for Enduro India click the donate button and it will link to my paypal account.
Thanks for your support,

Anna

Busy busy busy

Hi,
A quick update on what's been happening.
Held a doughnut sale on Friday 11th 'Doughnate a £1 to charity', copying an idea from a fellow Enduro rider. My thought was just to visit Ecclesiastical in Gloucester as they have a large office of 600 staff, but unfortunately I think most of them were away that day as I hardly sold any! Despite them very kindly posting intranet message about it, noone seemed to like doughnuts very much, so I began to panick slightly when, at 2 o'clock, I still had about 250 doughnuts to sell!
Warner's Budgens very kindly let me buy the doughnuts at cost price, but my trip to Ecclesiastical didn't even cover that.
So off I went to Cheltenham to try something else. I visited the Echo, Dair and Archant. Thanks to friends who helped me out there, I couldn't have done it without you.
Then, as most offices were closing, I had to pluck up the courage to visit a few pubs. James at The Bath Tavern gave me a bit of Dutch courage with a large glass of wine and after selling a few there I went on to The Jolly Brewmaster and The Beehive. Thanks very much to the landlords who let me in, they must've thought my request was a little random but it worked very well. Some people even asked me to come back every Friday!
So all in all it wasn't a bad day in the end. £200 made after the cost of the doughnuts was accounted for. I could've made more if I'd got cheaper doughnuts somewhere else, but I wanted them to be tasty.
Hard day but good fun I think. May even get in the paper, although I am not sure what the photo will be like!

Bling & Buy

£52 raised from a small Bling & Buy event. It was such fun that I shall be organising a larger one I think later in the year. I am hoping to find a great venue, maybe an empty store in town or a church hall. As always I will keep you posted.

A new event is organised too, one which I have borrowed from another Enduro rider. Really good idea to sell doughnuts for a minimum £1 donation. 'Doughnate'.

Have got a great deal from Warner's Budgens for the doughnuts, thanks to Guy Warner. So far I will be visiting Ecclesiastical Insurance Group in Gloucester, hopefully The Chelsea Building Society in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Media, University of Gloucestershire and perhaps the Police HQ in Gloucester as well.

take care for now and please donate if you are able.

Enduro India

Hello,

Well this is the first entry into my blog. I was looking for an excuse to start it and now have a perfect one as have signed up to Enduro India 2010. This is a motorcycling tour through India to raise money for various charities: UNICEF, Rainbow Trust Children's Charity and Wildlife Conservation Charity. I would love to be able to raise as much money as I can for these charities.
I also need to learn how to ride which is perhaps a starting point! I will update this blog with more information when I get it.
There is a donate button below that links directly to PayPal, or alternatively you can send a cheque. Any donations are gratefully received.

Take care for now and thanks for visiting,

Anna
